OUTREACH SUMMARY BY YEAR

Since its founding in 1990, the mission of the Brownville Concert Series has been twofold: (1) to bring nationally and internationally renowned musical performers to a rural, underserved area of Nebraska and (2) conduct student or community outreach events.  Every performer is required to conduct an outreach activity including visits to schools or nursing homes (gifting 20 free tickets with each visit), giving free master classes (including free tickets) or workshops. Although the Concert Series is a mostly volunteer non-profit, the few persons paid are the Technical Crew, primarily area high school and college students who assist backstage and with sound and lighting and all things relating to production.
